The hard "no's" for AI in events

I participated in a webinar for facilitators on AI use and predictions. Most of it was unsurprising - AI is great for research, prompting additional ideas for inspiring dicussion, and collecting and summarising meeting outcomes. I love using AI as an aid for these.
Then one presenter described a near future where every meeting would involve a surveillance camera and an earpiece for the facilitator.
The facilitator would receive realtime, AI-generated advice:
"Joe just sat back and crossed his arms - so he may be silently disagreeing with this idea. Ask him his views."
Or "Priya's eyes are focused on her screen - she may be reading emails, so engage actively with her."
The speaker was so excited about this future vision. I hated it!
For a start, as soon as you're listening to a constant voice in your ear, you run the risk of not being fully present in the conversation, or worse, being led astray by AI-generated assumptions around body language. As a facilitator, my full focus needs to be on everyone in the room and every idea that's raised. It's exhausting and exhilarating at the same time.
The reason why we come together for in person meetings is so that we all can explore fresh perspectives, different ideas, and even different ways of communicating.
So I'm going to keep using AI to help my preparation and streamline reporting, while keeping the conversations focused on the humans in the room.
Where are you seeing the fault lines in your organsation when adopting AI?
Beyond reward: why some incentives are losing value at the venue, and how to fix this
When costs are rising, the ROI of incentive travel comes under scrutiny.
Incentives deliver the “wow” - extraordinary, money-can’t-buy rewards and experiences. Companies gain the benefit of inspiring and motivating high performance in the lead-up to selection.
But too often, organisers overlook the chance to gain additional, lasting value.
Bringing together your most successful people provides a rare opportunity to harness their collective intelligence - their insights on their personal keys to success, company processes, changing customers and industry dynamics.
